Animating an Animation
Animating an animation is not as easy as most people think. Animation needs lots of time, work, and patient. As an beginner animator, I have experienced many things on doing some animation regarding to our project from last semester and current semester. Doing animation is fun in some particular side, yet it has lots of work should be done on time. Works should be done in order to reach the next stage of animation process, first doing pre production, production, and post production.
In the pre production, determining the character is important to build the story. The character should fulfill some criteria base on the movie we will make and also as the story describe it. A good character should be able to let people understand that is the main character and this one is the side characters. The appearance of the character should also base on the story, as how it told. A character should represent something, it should represent the circumstances of its life and more likely it should be able to bring the audience deep into the story.
The next one is production phase. In this process, animation should be executed as the pre production plan and story board. However, executing the process should be done in many different angle and way. An animation should be delivering the story as deep as the story line and the story board. Dubber should be able to give its voice as natural as it could to the character so it won’t look like it being pushed and desperate. Other than dubber, animator should able to let people follow the animation in proper order. Besides those, the director should direct their animator and designer in good way, so they will encourage doing more and bettering.
Last one is about the post production n the animation. The post production should be the key of the effect and success of the movie. Here, in this process, people in charge in these job should able to give proper effect on the animation. They should be able to give right effect on right time, including the brightness, color tone, pitch, voice, and other technical problem.
In the conclusion, animating an animation is not easy we flipped the hands. Many thing should be done, many thing should be overcome,, and problems occur a lot. But having a good team will always lead into a good result. Directing is important and it will easier if we divided the specific jobs for each people who are in the process. Animations need lots of time and effort to be done. Hence planning is important in the very beginning of the process. Other that planning, commitment is also important, so we can do the animation smoother and also done in time.
