Concept : Location and Place

Problem :

Unorganized Animal
No Understandable Map
Lost in the middle of area
No actual map image in the internet

Idea:

Map Installation -> Central Area
Easy Map Access

Map Concept:

Focus around the central area
Dividing animal by using area of their actual location
Using silhouette and color differentiation
Area division using north, south, west, and east as actual view

Estimate Result:

Map Installation
Renew surrounding area of central area
Giving a concept as central area as the central place for the zoo

Reason:

Fixing the Problem which we encounter.
Let people access the map easier
Simply make people wants to go to Zoo

Conclusion:

Easier zoo exploration
No lost during the visit
Easy map access
Simple, but attracting design for people all over the age.

Design Process:

During designing the entire map, we do divided the job for each person, Deny drew the map and compile all in one file and location, Wina does the silhouette picture by photoshop and paint tool sai, Zikroh does the map drawing for each part and also the big map, and Adil do the coloring and collecting the information for the legend of the map. During the process of making this map, we do the field exploring twice, first is in the 1^st of November and second in 6^th of November. During the exploration we also did the survey through the people there, to get clear information of problem they encounter and we should fix it. And they are confusing of how the map looks like and so do we. Hence, we make a map and design it as simple as possible so any age will easily understand it with simple legend explaining the animals.

During the making process of this project, we spent about 1 week to create the whole map, coloring it, and making the silhouette. Other technical problem occur is the bamboo and suitable for one computer and then we would make it through digital with 3d effect, but we can’t because then not all computer installed with the software and also not all computers have bamboo attached to them. So we did it manually through drawing. We edit the drawing in both photoshop and illustrator.
