Week 1

the first week of my narrative story study is exaggerating. from the discussion of how different ethnic/religion differ the way of their tradition heritage, I could sum up some new knowledge based on my point of view. there is some factors that influence the way of how the ancestor heritage their tradition, such as ;

1. Culture. different cultures will determine on how the tradition will be inherited by the youngster on the group. in Hindu culture, the way of telling our generations was by writing the manuscript on ”Lontar” (the leaf from coconut like tree). the elder do write them down, but not with pen neither pencil, they crave the script which is Sanskrit words  by knife. those information could be survive up until now.

2. tradition. if people tend to use stone as the media of transferring their knowledge, it mean they have been using the stone for long time while if other people tend to use drawing as the symbol of communicating, they also have learn it from long time ago.

3. religion. some religion will have a strict rule about symbolizing god by some shape, and it is forbidden. so it will be always different on how to telling the new generation by its religion. like in Islam, it is forbidden to use symbol as the way of telling something, while in Hindu, we use symbol mostly for way of communicating.

4. period of time. the older the tradition, the more basic the way of telling the tradition. while, the newer it is, the more complex on how to tell the information though

despite of the difference, the way of oral tradition being change a lot since the technology invented. in example, it was using method of face to face, but now you can still communicate by media. well those up sum the lecture that being lectured by my teacher last Thursday, it supposed to be essay, but since I can’t find the idea because of that day we only talk and discuss, with no mere topic for essay. I will make the essay later on
